SSI multi-gas analyzers can be used for the calculation of carbon in endothermic and nitrogen methanol-based atmospheres with an input of temperature. The gases measured with the portable and permanently mounted devices are commonly found in heat treatment and prove valuable for troubleshooting furnaces or endothermic generators. These instruments meet CQI-9 requirements for daily generator and furnace atmosphere verifications. For certain applications such as ferritic nitrocarburizing (FNC), a hydrogen cell can be added, providing additional information about the heat treatment process.
Models
Portable Gas Analyzer – PGA3510
- Portable 4-Gas NDIR Analyzer + Oxygen (% O2) – CO, CO2, CH4, H2
- Precision Measurement of Protective Heat Treating Atmospheres
The portable gas analyzer can be used for the calculation of carbon in endothermic and nitrogen methanol based atmospheres with an input of temperature. This instrument meets CQI-9 requirements for daily generator and furnace atmosphere verifications.
Permanent Gas Analyzer – MGA6010
- Permanently mounted and continuous Precision Measurement of Protective Heat Treating Atmospheres
- CO, CO2, CH4, H2 – Used for Carburizing, FNC, and Nitriding
The permanently-mounted continuous gas analyzer can be used for carburizing, neutral and ferritic nitrocarburizing heat treat applications. The measurement of the process gas provides calculated values for %C, KN, KC. In endothermic based atmospheres, the instrument in conjunction with carbon probes can be used to automatically adjust COF to provide the most precise atmosphere measurement.
Rack-Mounted Permanent Gas Analyzer – RGA6010
- Rack-mounted and continuous Precision Measurement of Protective Heat Treating Atmospheres
- CO, CO2, CH4, H2 – Used for Carburizing, FNC, and Nitriding
The rack-mounted continuous gas analyzer can be used for carburizing, neutral and ferritic nitrocarburizing heat treat applications. The measurement of the process gas provides calculated values for %C, KN, KC. In endothermic based atmospheres, the instrument in conjunction with carbon probes can be used to automatically adjust COF to provide the most precise atmosphere measurement.
Multi-Zone/Furnace Multi-Gas Analyzer – MZA6010
- Multi-Zone/Furnace Multi-Gas Analyzer
The MZA 6010 is a Multi-Gas Infared (IR) analyzer used to analyze gases in multiple zones of a furnace or furnaces. It measures Carbon Monoxide (CO), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), and Natural Gas (CH4) typically found in an endothermic atmosphere. The measurement of these gases, combined with furnace temperature information, allows the MZA 6010 to calculate the percent Carbon (%C) of the measured gas. A Hydrogen (H2) sensor can also be incorporated as an option to provide a more complete picture of the measured gas. Communications and zones can be configured based on a plant’s individual needs.
