Waldec Group is happy to welcome Piia Leppänen as our new Assistant Controller.
Piia has previously worked as an accounting specialist in an accounting firm and has mainly worked in financing and with accounting but has also been increasingly interested in HR management tasks. This led her to reach out and take a chance with Waldec. Piia has not worked in a technical industrial company before but as she likes to challenge herself, she decided she wanted to challenge herself in this new field. She is eager to learn new things and as Waldec is a growing company and she will have the opportunity to grow together with us.
Piia finished her Batchelors Degree in Business Administration 2002. Since then, she has been working in larger companies with 200-400 employees. To try something new and to get out of her comfort zone, Piia wanted to make change and to see how things are done in a small, growing company like Waldec. She didn’t want to miss out the opportunity to be part of and contribute to the growth.
Piia will take on the responsibility of the accounting for Waldec Groups Nordic companies and step by step will work more towards controlling and reporting of different business units. The long-term goal is to gain understanding of Waldec accounting and trough that build a base for future growth in Waldec.
In her free time Piia spends most of her time together with her son, taking him to his football training sessions and games. If she’s not cheering on her son on the field’s side-lines, you can find her taking long walks in the woods, spending time with her friends, or just reading books and chilling. Now that the Covid-19 restrictions are being removed, she’s also taken out her gym clothes to start that hobby again.
Piia is always happy, and her positiveness is as contagious as her smiles. We are delighted to have her joining our team. Her bright outlook on life and her knowledge and skills are big assets for our company. We look forward to our journey together!
